Hi everyone! It's been a long time since we've checked in.
I have good news for you all! Princess Fiona has been ♥ Adopted!! ♥
A couple months ago, Fiona was moved to a new foster in LA...so she could be closer to her rescue group and available for adoption events, meet and greets, etc. I had fulfilled my part of the deal by nursing her back to heath-making her adoptable, and so I had to say good-bye to her. It was hard, but I knew she was in good hands with Kate.
Well, Kate and her little boy fell head over heals for Fiona and they have decided to keep her! I couldn't be more happy for the both of them!
Finally the happy ending we've all wanted for this Fiona, after all that she has been through, she will only know LOVE for the rest of her days! WE LOVE YOU, FIONA!! xoxo ♥
(Fiona's new Mommy and me have made a page for Fiona of Facebook...if You'd like to keep tabs on her happenings, click HERE and 'LIKE' her page!)

Sugar and SPICE...Along with Everything Nice
Hello friends of Fiona! We hope you've been enjoying the first week of the new summer season!
Fiona has been doing great...frisky pup who is always on the move lately. Now that she feels better, she is really testing her limits...like any dog would do. She is a little stubborn and challenges me as top dog occasionally...for as long as I can keep a straight face anyway. Her frustrated, pouty face..complete with a huff or two is really difficult to ignore, which would discourage such 'tude. I can't help it though...she is so adorable!
Ready for some more pictures of the Princess?!
Just a few days ago...6/25. More and more hair filling in each day. Her coat is mostly white (BRIGHT white-you gotta have sunglasses when you take her outside ...)...with light brown/tan coloring...and freckles of all sizes scattered throughout.
It's been kinda neat to see what colors grow in...weren't really sure what her face was going to look like when we first met her.
Here is another side-by-side comparison..
She is getting very tolerant of her baths...once she is actually in the tub and wet, that is. She has been trying to hide under a table or my bed when she knows something is coming that she'd rather not fuss with...such as medicine and bath time!
.
Here she is...nekkid and suspicious....
Uhhmmm...is it really bath time AGAIN??
She doesn't scratch, lick or chew her skin at ALL anymore. What a relief that must be for her! As a result...she hasn't been decked out in cute sundresses all the time...we get to save those for special occasions now. Like when she goes to adoption events and eventually, her forever home! She'll come complete with her own wardrobe...heeheee
Here are a couple pics of her out and about exploring with her buddies...by far one her favorite things ever to do. When she is outside, it is getting more difficult to get a picture of her face. She is so busy sniffing and exploring everything. I change our route up every few days to keep it interesting for them .
My two cute, happy little fosters! I sure will miss these two kiddos!
And a final comparison photo for you all!
Thank you again for Following Fiona and supporting her recovery! (Hugs and Kisses...from Fiona ♥)

An afternoon at the IMPAWV!
Hello Friends of Fiona!
Fiona continues to improve every day. She is a very normal, playful, sassy girl! As you all know she has lots of fun running around with Vito and Toodles. My 9.5 year old dachshund, Raleigh usually just hangs back a supervisors or he just straight up ignores the Chis and snoozes. The only dog Raleigh has ever played with was his BFF, Sweet Pea.
Fiona has been very intrigued by Raleigh's 'hard-to-get' act...and she can be very convincing...watch this video and see her finally convince him PLAY!

It is a riot watching these two play. It's different than when the Chihuahuas play...Raleigh has a completely different style of play, which evidently includes a lot of 'gator rolls' and booty bumps!
I'll leave you with a few more cute Fiona pictures...
Mindi's favorite freckles are on her nose...very cute too!!
That's all for now, folks! We'll be back soon! ♥ xoxo ♥ --Fiona

She's Got Moxie!
WOW! Here we are...it's now been 30 days since Fiona was busted out of cing-cing. Seems like it's been longer only because she is progressing SO quickly! I haven't been fostering for very long but, so far, this little girl came to us the sickest, but she has also come around the fastest. All she did was sleep the first 2 weeks and all that R&R has definitely paid off...
Last time you saw her she was looking pretty good, let me refresh your memory..
Here she is on June 3rd --------------->
Annnnndddd, (drum roll, please...)
here she is TODAY--1 month out of the shelter
☟
☟
☟
☟
Her coat is soft everywhere...NO more rough, scaly patches. Seldom is her skin pink or irritated and she has hair growing everywhere now! In some places, it's just puppy fuzz...but, it's hair nonetheless!
LOOK at the cute beauty mark➚ on her left leg! She has cute little marks like this one all over. (This was taken 2 days ago...so much hair has grown in just 2 days)
She really has come so far in just one month...
And the personality of this girl....OMG, she has us in stitches all the time. I hope I've captured some of her silly, free spirit in these videos so that maybe she'll make you chuckle too!
Thanks so much for Following Fiona!! We'll see you again very soon ♥

She has this funny, pouty, chortle she does when things don't go her way. This video is kinda dark, because it was just before we went off to bed---but, here you see her very frustrated with Vito because SHE wants to play now and he is completely ignoring her...too busy grooming himself before bed. Turn the volume up!
I've mentioned she is QUITE the flirt. She loves my roommate, her foster Pop, Sean soooo much. He gets kisses all the time. I rarely do! She also loves boy dogs...but does NOT want anything to do with girl dogs. Fergie briefly visited last weekend and Fiona was not at all friendly towards her. The last time Fergie was here there were no problems because little Fiona was still feeling crummy and had no energy for attitude. THIS time, Fiona had to hang out in her crate for about 10 minutes while Fergie was here.
OK...can you see the Diva's big old crocodile tear (click on the image to enlarge) in this picture? This little girl cries actual TEARS when she is upset about something...or in this case, just intensely irritated with the other girl in the house. I've never seen a dog cry tears...have you?
Perhaps this behavior will change after she is spayed...?
Since she's been feeling better, she hasn't been at all happy about having to crate when we leave the house. IN fact, she has figured out how to up zip the 'door' to her Princess Lair to free herself! Fortunately, she is very well behaved OUT of the crate when left alone. She isn't the least bit destructive and she is perfectly quiet--OooO, except she will get into the trash, so she can't have access to that. I just confine her and Raleigh to the hallway and my bedroom when I'm gone and everything is just peachy-keen! She sleeps beautifully in her crate at bedtime still, thank goodness!
And as you saw a few blogs back...she loves to play! She spends most of her time running around, playing with all the boys. This video here shows her mostly with Vito...but often, all the of the Chis are playing together, and sometimes Raleigh, my dachshund, gets in on the fun too! What once was 'Ally's Chihuahua Haven' is now 'Ally's Chihuahua Romper Room'! It's so cute to watch! Here's another little video...enjoy!
And then...the aftermath, MY favorite part...
Here are just a few more pics of the pretty girl with her best buddies, out and about...
I'm so glad you all made it back to check in on Fiona! As you can see she is healing and growing hair very quickly! She is, however, still being medicated and needing baths twice a week. The wonderful Mindi Memel and La Dolce Vita Rescue are working very hard to make sure she gets everything she needs...if you can donate even $10, it would be a big help!!
Thanks so much for Following Fiona!! We'll see you again very soon ♥

When you donate to Fiona's medical fund, please do not be alarmed if you see the link go to Peace of Mind Pet Sitting. This is ME and it's my pet sitting business account...AND I forward every cent to Mindi and La Dolce Vita Rescue.
In order to simplify paypal, ebay and donation transactions as well as personal banking info...I now have just one business Paypal account I use for everything.
Thanks for all of you that have donated...please know that it is GREATLY appreciated and it has really made a difference in Fiona's speedy recovery! Although we are doing great, we still have a ways to go to cover her medical fees and we are still shampooing and medicating, so PLEASE keep them coming in...every dollar helps!

Hello Fiona Followers!
I know you've all been wondering how Fiona is doing! I'm very sorry to leave you all hanging...but prepare to be amazed when you see her next!
So, please stay tuned for tomorrow's blog...I promise it will be well worth the wait. We've got great pictures, at least TWO videos and some really funny new personality traits emerging...as well as some that are not so cute!
She has changed so much over the past 2 weeks...I'm not even sure where I'll start!
For now, I'll just say...this little girl has SO MUCH personality and I am beginning to think that even though Princess Fiona is a GREAT name for her, Princess Flirt ♥ is much more fitting...

Fi-Fi the Wonder Pooch!
Hello Fiona fans! So sorry we've not been back to update you all in a while. I've still been very busy with Blanca, my little old lady foster. She sure keeps me busy some days. Plus my hands have been bothering me so, it's been difficult to sit down and type a whole lot at one time
Fiona had her recheck with Dr. Jones on Tuesday. When he first came into the room, Fiona was still in her crate and he looked at me tentatively and asked "Well, does she look any better...too soon to tell?" I said OH NO, she is a doing great! He was very surprised to see how much new hair she has. She is responding extremely well to treatment.
<--May 21st, notice how red and inflammed, NO hair around her eyes)
Another look, this time at the top of her head...
<--This was taken her 1st night here, May 16th. Red, blotchy, crusty, sad and OH SO smelly
This one was taken today! A little red still but much improved-->
Fiona still sleeps more than an average dog her age, I'd say...although, sometimes it's hard to tell. Chihuahuas make pretty good couch potatoes!
But, it does seem she has some days that are better than others-in terms of mood and energy.
Since Fiona came to join us, I have been walking the dogs for just quick trips out, 2 pups at a time. I've tried before to manage 4 dogs on a good, long walk and it is a fiasco. BuT...the guilt has been getting to me. Vito, Raleigh and Toodles are used to going for a walk to the park every day. Vito especially needs this time outside. He gets really restless and even chews his feet and dewclaws from boredom
I've been trying to figure out the least traumatic way (for ME and the dogs, lol) to work this out. I've tried a connector lead before and it was such a BAD idea that I finally gave up after several attempts. I think with a connector lead, the dogs must be strategically paired up...and it occurred to me this morning that Vito and Fiona are a perfect pair!

Both of them LOVE to walk at the very end of the lead, eager to see where we're going next, they're about the same weight and they also happen to dig (no pun intended) each other quite a bit Yesterday we did a trial walk around a couple blocks and then back home. It wasn't perfect by any means, but I see potential here!
Whoops...!
Today I decided we would go all the way to the park and see how they do. I took an extra leash so that once we were at the park, I could separate the two and they could go off and explore a little on their own, and THAT was the trickiest part of the whole venture.
They did really well with it. It will take some time before they aren't tugging each other so much...I can already see them start to figure out that the whole situation is a lot more fun if they just go with the flow...so true, isn't it?

LÓ-Ò¬k at the gorgeous brown-eyed girl!
I can't believe how big and dark her eyes are, now that the inflammation around her face and eyes has diminished.
That's all for now folks. We'll be back to update everyone in a few more days!
-xoxo, from Fiona
